The most important lesson I learned from the book is that Black Wall Street existed because dollars circulated within their community. Today, the majority of money earned by African Americans is being spent in other communities, weakening our economic power. Even if a small portion of the money we earned is spent with other African Americans businesses, that provide high quality products or service, the return on investment would be significant.
