Developing Positive Self-Images & Discipline in Black Children
The relationship between self-esteem and student achievement is analyzed in this book.
"I ordered this book because I will be opening a school within the next few years. We will be educating and caring for the exact “type” of children that Jawanza Kunjufu discusses throughout the pages. Simply put, I LOVED this book and will be reading every other book written by this man.
It’s easy to tell a person that they will have to “handle these children with care”, but he reminds us why these children behave the way that they do and why they need the extra love and attention. He then explains different methods on how to approach the situation.
I was fortunate enough to have positive adults in my life who also handled me with the same care, so it was as if my loved ones were speaking to me through this book. That love, care and attention is the exact reason why I plan on opening my own school.
One of the main things I enjoyed about this book was that it was less than 100 pages. He didn’t stretch his material across 200-300 pages, but instead got straight to the point in each chapter." ~ Verified Purchaser
